The European Union is a community of countries at different levels of development which face many different challenges. Many of these challenges are common to all Member States of the Union. The European Funds contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of the Member States’ economies and are used to combat unemployment and to carry out activities conducive to the development of poorer regions.
